
Overview
The first project in my automotive engineering career, and an eventful one at that.
Working alongside Magna Steyr Graz to deliver Ineos the successor to the Grenadier; the electric Fusilier. The role began with project tracking and light coordination, before progressing to Design Responsible Engineer for the Rear Bumper and CMS Package.

POLYMER BUMPER DESIGN & ASSEMBLY
After moving into Part and Assembly Design Management, the work followed standard OEM procedures from the outset.
This phase brought direct experience with Part Feasibility Studies, De-moulding Analysis and Supplier Alignments.
It also deepened involvement in DVP creation, Specbook documentation, Standards reviews, DFMEA and Technical Drawing, all while designing and CAD-modelling moulded polymer automotive parts.

GAP & FLUSH
Gap & Flush turned out to be one of the most interesting topics of the project.
A specialisation rarely covered in university courses, early exposure to GD&T offered a valuable look at quality engineering and cross-department collaboration in practice.
The results of this discipline are directly tangible, and make a meaningful difference in the final Series Production vehicles.

Tolerancing
Another noteworthy part of the project was learning more about the tolerancing of Parts and Assemblies.
Hands-on experience was gained aligning and defining necessary tolerances between parts in an assembly, and validating the resulting chain calculations.
